All Grain Free Recipes
Welcome to my recipe page… You will find that all the recipes here are Grain Free (which also makes them Gluten Free by default!), and that most of them are quite low in carbohydrates as well. I welcome feedback on any recipes you have tried, as it is always good to know how well they worked for someone else in a different kitchen. I am still learning myself, so substitutions are welcome and encouraged, but I cannot assure you of the same results if you switch things up. I hope that this helps on your journey to be free from the damaging effects of grains… or just gives you some food ideas whether or not you live a grain free and low carb lifestyle!

I am so glad to find this site! I have been mostly GF for awhile now but since I was already a vegetarian I actually didn’t lose but a couple pounds when I made the switch. Now as I research more I am going to try the Carb free/Sugar free/GF route and see if that will improve the issue. I love to bake and cook so finding recipes for crackers and cakes is a wonderful thing. Thank you so much for keeping up with this site out of your love and passion for helping people. I look forward to learning how to cook carb free and not just GF. Here is to a wonderful New Year 2013!

Thank you Autumn, I hope that these recipes will help you in your dietary changes! Getting rid of grains seems to have a positive impact on most people, both for the inflammatory effects and reducing sugar to lose weight. I don’t ascribe to a zero carb approach, but my recipes are either low or moderate carb, and without grains and added sugars. Personally, when I go to nearly carb free, my energy drops as does my mood, but everyone needs to adapt to what makes them personally feel their best 🙂 Happy 2013 to you as well! ~Gretchen

Hi Gretchen! I found you at wheatbellyblog a few months ago and have been enjoying your blog so much! Have tried quite a few of your recipes, and your chocolate chip cookies without the egg are my very favorite. A bit crumbly, true … but oh so scrumptious! As my daughter put it “these are the best yet, Mom” as we’ve been cooking and baking wheat free for a while now. I also made your chocolate pudding last weekend, and my Mom was so surprised it is made with avocados as she loves them and eats them all the time, so I made her some more to give her variety. I also made your cheese and thyme crackers – also fabulous. And there are many other things I want to try. Your photography is very inspirational, I look forward to being retired some day soon and perhaps trying my hand at a blog like yours, I think it would be so much fun. I do already take pictures of foods I made to show friends and family, so I’m getting some practice.
I just made some focaccia bread from WB and will upload to photo bucket – would a link be ok to post?
Thank you so much for sharing all these recipes, and for the time and energy it takes to experiment and put it all together. I know there are many who appreciate it the way I do!
Best,
Barbara

Hi Barbara,
Thank you so much for your kind words, and I am always happy to hear that the recipes work well for people and that it makes it a little easier to follow this lifestyle! It’s great that you are already taking pictures of your food, it definitely can help to show others how delicious and real the food is. Feel free to post a link to your photo if you like. I hope you do get a chance to try more recipes as well. And you can always add an egg to the chocolate chip cookies if you want to change the texture, but I agree, I like them the way they are.
Take care and thank you for your comment!
